This guide is a starting point for investigating topics and finding support related to gender identity, sexuality, sexual orientation, and experiences of LGBTQIA+ communities in the United States, and for addressing visibility and inclusion. It is a starting point and the resources you will find are not meant to be comprehensive.  Uses of this guide may include:

  • identifying local and support resources for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies
  • finding books, articles, and media (physical and digital) for use in courses
  • locating resources for research projects; both recommended titles and suggestions for searching in different library collections
  • exploring recommended resources for your personal education on topics of LGBTQIA+ experiences, history, and movements
