Student Employee Guide: Checking out Materials

Checking out items

  1. Open Alma – log in using your MyCCC login and password.  You can either click on the desktop shortcut, or use the bookmark in one of the web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE).

" "

Messages and other information on this screen may change from time to time.  If you have a question about something you see there, you can always ask the Circulation Supervisor or other Library staff member.

  1. Hover over the word “Fulfillment” in top blue bar to see the menu.

" "

  1. Select “Manage Patron Services.”  (You can also click on “Manage Patron Services” from the Recent Pages ribbon.)  The next screen is the Patron Identification screen.
    " "

  2. Click in the box and scan the patron’s ID.  If they do not have their ID, you can enter their C number, or last name.  When you type in a C number, CCC username, or patron name, you will need to select the appropriate name from the list that will appear and then click the “Go” button on the right side of the box.

  3. When the patron record opens, verify that it is the correct person.  Then scan the items to check out.
    " "

  4. Watch for any messages that may pop up, regarding overdue material, requests on the hold shelf, or blocks of any kind.  The system may also prompt you to check for accompanying material – make sure there are 2 CDs in a CD case, for example.  If a message appears that you do not understand or stops you from checking out items to the patron, get the Circulation Supervisor or other Library staff member for help.

  5. Click the “Done” button after all items have been scanned.  Date due information will be emailed to the patron, at the email address in their record (typically their corning-cc email).
