Information Literacy & Critical Appraisal: Artificial Intelligence (AI)

About this Guide

AI can offer exciting possibilities as well as potential challenges for students. However, AI should help you think, not think for you. It's important for you to understand the benefits and the risks in this evolving environment.

You might use AI tools to brainstorm new ideas, research topics, and analyze problems, but in the end, you must decide what's appropriate and accurate.

Your use of AI must be open and documented.

You should declare, explain, and cite any use of AI in the creation of your work. Understand that ultimately, only you are responsible for the work you submit.

Follow the AI guidelines in your syllabus.

If you are ever unsure, check with your instructor. Be familiar with CCC's Academic Dishonesty Policy.
